Charlotte, NC– On November 23, 2017, streetwear brand, The Ghood Kind, debuted ‘Ghood Girl Magic’; a specialty parade unit that honors all shades of beauty with models poised as life-size dolls.
The unit promotes self love and encourages women of color to know that they are beautiful despite the pressures of societal standards. Ghood Girl Magic literally “unboxed” beauty standards and created their own; honoring women like Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and classic characters including Whitley Gilbert, Moesha and the like. The unit was a hit with over 1 million social impressions and features from major media outlets including The Shade Room and Level 21 Mag.
This year, Ghood Girl Magic is using BLK MRKT Studios as its exclusive media and production partner to make the experience an even greater one. BLK MRKT is a photography studio based out of Charlotte, NC and is known as a staple for creatives in the Charlotte community. BLK MRKT was the venue and creative force behind the first ever Durag Festival also based in Charlotte, NC. Owners Will Jenkins and Dammit Wesley will be providing exclusive photography, videography, and creative production services for the project and its events leading up to the big day.
